Open the machine guard and turn the chain tensioning knob to the OFF position. This releases the pressure from the automatic chain tensioner. Loosen the chain by pulling it down or up from the center of the chain plate, and then remove the chain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Sharpening of the steel chain<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can sharpen your chain with either a circular saw or an electric saw. If you sharpen your chain with a saw, you can make the work easier with many tools, such as saw guides and saw blades. Sharpen the chain according to your chain type and the sharpening angle recommended by the manufacturer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When using an electric file, it is advisable to use quick, snapping movements so that the surface does not overheat. Make sure that the locking handle is securely fastened and that the chain is locked. Always move the chain forward one groove at a time to place the next file to be sharpened.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Check and adjust the depth measurements if necessary. Also remember to ensure that the grooves are evenly ground and that the surface of the chain is uniformly bright. Finally, clean off any debris and then carefully lubricate the chain with chain oil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Maintenance of steel sheet<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When changing the steel chain, the condition of the steel bar must also be checked. If necessary, the steel bar must be turned and maintained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If the rod is bent or has cracks in it, it must always be replaced with a new one. Look at the rod in the same way you would look at the scope of a rifle to see if the rod has a straight base.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Steel links wear in two places: the chain guide rails and the guide link. Check the wear of the link and grind the chain guide rails with a grinding machine. Be sure to grind both sides, and check that the result is even. The link should be replaced when the chain guide rails are worn so that the chain no longer rests on the guide links.&nbsp; &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Installation of steel chain<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Install a new or serviced steel chain in place. Make sure the cutting tooth is facing forward in relation to the rotation direction. First install the chain on the leading side of the steel bar and remember to turn the tensioning knob to the ON position. Close the machine guard and start the machine.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In modern clippers, the automatic chain tensioner tightens the steel chain to the right tension and the bar rises up. The tension is appropriate when the chain can be lifted with reasonable force slightly. If the chain feels too loose or tight, check the pressure on the chain tensioner or the tensioning screw in the mechanical system.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Additional tip!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Always keep five cutting chains in readiness. If you do not have the tools to sharpen the chains or there are many chains, you should consider using an external sharpening service. In such a case, sharpening the chains with an external sharpening service may be more cost-effective and save you time as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With pure oil and a filter, the sensitive hydraulic parts operate smoothly and the oil temperature remains at a moderate level.
