Producing high-quality and waste-free firewood is a fundamental prerequisite for success when the goal is to achieve a good profit margin for the firewood business. In this blog post, we focus specifically on how to meet customers’ demand for a waste-free firewood as much as possible.

In our previous article, we talked about, How to make a charcoal business successful. In the article, we discussed various customers and their needs and wishes. If your goal is to achieve a high profit margin, your customers are likely to be very demanding regarding the quality of their firewood. One way to ensure the quality of firewood is to deliver firewood with as little waste as possible. This blog post also covers the efficient cleaning of firewood.

Cleaning the firewood speeds up their drying

Nowadays, there are many different ways to clean firewood during the production process. In fact, most modern clapper mills already have some kind of cleaning system.

For example, the clippers equipped with a Hakki Pilke saw are also equipped with a cleaning discharge conveyor. Thanks to this patented solution, the end result is cleaner firewood, which you can, if necessary, deliver without any extra waste, for example directly to the customer’s truck.

Cleaning the firewood is also important because it makes your firewood more uniform and dries it faster. Cleaning the firewood therefore speeds up the entire production process. At the same time, you ensure that the firewood delivered to your customers is of the highest possible quality and uniform.

In addition to the amount of pulp, the size of the final product also affects the rate of drying and the pleasant handling of the wood. The Pilke chopper machines have a wide selection of cutting blades and can cut wood from 2/4 to 16 pieces, depending on the model. The Falcon 35 model now has an additional accessory available as an option: an 8-piece blade.

When you produce large quantities of firewood, the solution is an industrial cleaning device

If you produce large quantities of firewood, there are many special cleaning tools for firewood specifically designed for this on the market. They are usually either drum-type or have vibrating parts for separating the debris. For example, Hakki Pilke offers two different firewood cleaners for industrial needs.

Hakki Pilke Roller is an independent firewood cleaner that ensures the cleanliness and uniformity of your firewood. Since dry firewood often releases debris, such as dried bark, the Hakki Pilke Roller is often a sensible choice to use even after the firewood has dried, just before transport. This ensures that the firewood you deliver to customers is completely free of debris.

The Hakki Pilke Roller is ideal for producing large quantities of firewood daily. With the Hakki Pilke Roller, it is possible to use several Hakki Pilke clippers at a time, as its capacity is large and it is open from the top. The Hakki Pilke Roller can also be used in combination with a front loader.

Hakki Pilke Cleaner is a sturdy firewood cleaner equipped with a cleaning drum. The drum rotates at the same time as the clapper machine’s discharge conveyor feeds the clappers. The cleaned clappers can be directed using the control panel, for example directly into suitable bags. With the side-swivel extension conveyor (3m) available as an accessory, the clappers can also be directed, for example, onto a truck platform. Thanks to its adjustable height, the Cleaner can be connected to almost all clapper models.

TIP!
Do not throw away the lumps that come out during the cleaning process; they can be used as ignition points. You can also easily make use of them by assembling ignition pouches, for example, into sales packs or providing the covers for the clamps you deliver to the store.

In Hakki Pilke's range of products, you can find the appropriate punch machine and cleaning equipment for both industrial production, professionals, semi-professionals, and those who make punches for their own needs.
