Matti Sairanen has been working as a firewood entrepreneur for 11 years. The first step into the industry was taken in 2013 when he acquired his first Hakki Pilke Easy 38 firewood processor, which launched his firewood career. Since then, Hakki Pilke machines have become an essential part of Matti's firewood production, and he now uses his third Hakki Pilke machine. Matti has always purchased his firewood processors from the Lantmännen Agro store in Ylivieska.
Every year, Matti produces approximately 700–800 cubic meters of firewood. His customers are satisfied and recommend him to others, so marketing is hardly needed – word-of-mouth has done its job. Thanks to customer orders, nearly 100 cubic meters of firewood for next spring's deliveries are already reserved. In addition to his own firewood production, Matti also visits customers' yards to process wood, which is either made into firewood on-site or transported to Matti's workshop for processing.

In firewood entrepreneurship, Matti particularly values freedom – he can do his work at his own pace and according to customer needs. Additionally, his services include felling trees in yards. Matti makes firewood from the sturdiest yard trees, producing about 150–200 cubic meters of firewood annually with an HH 110 hydraulic splitter. The maximum wood diameter for the HH110 hydraulic splitter is 800 mm. According to Matti, the splitter is fast and easy to use, thanks to its built-in lifter that facilitates handling large trees. The trees are first roughly split, and then the pieces are cut smaller. The hydraulic splitter can be used with a four or six-piece splitting blade, which makes the work flexible.
His commitment and expertise have earned him a loyal customer base, and Hakki Pilke's reliable and efficient machines have been an important part of his success in the firewood industry.
